Four hundered nineteen out of school youth under ELSA's Accreditation and Equivalency Program took the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) last January 21, 2007.

They are part of the program's current batch of learners composed of 992 youth. The examinees took the placement exam among the following testing areas in Maguindanao: Barongis Central Elementary School in the Municipality of Sultan sa Barongis, Dalican Pilot Elementary School of Datu Odin Sinsuat and Datu Shariff Aguak Central Elementary School in Shariff Aguak.

A November 2006 test took place for residents of Cotabato City where more than 200 of ELSA’s learners participated.

In 2006, 576 A & E learners from its previous batch were accelerated by up to 3 grade levels through the said placement test. Out of this number of passers, 348 former OSY were enrolled to the formal school system for school year 2006-2007.

ELSA’s Accreditation & Equivalency Program is an 8-month program for the out of school youth that primarily provides an alternative system to delivering basic education. Unique to the ELSA Program is its integration of Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System modules with Consuelo Foundation’s two signature training programs: Skills for Life and Youth Civic Engagement training.
