ELSA won its first Anvil Award for the successful implementation of the In-School Youth Engagement Program (ISYEP). ELSA's ISYEP was among the 22 recipients of the Anvil Award of Merit, besting the rest of the 96 entries that competed under the Institutional and Corporate Public Relations Programs category. The award adds up to the list of other award-winning programs being implemented by ELSA members.

Considered the Oscars of Public Relations practice in the Philippines, the Anvil Awards are given annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines. It gives recognition to the outstanding PR programs and tools that promote public interest, good values and genuine service to the community and society.

The award was given last February 23, 2007 at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila. Receiving the award in behalf of the alliance were Dr. Zeny Domingo, ELSA's Deputy Chief of Party, Mr. Bill Luz, Ayala Foundation's Executive Vice President, and Ms. Sol Delantar, Ayala Foundation's Youth Leadership Development Manager.

ELSA's In-School Youth Engagement Program, spearheaded by Ayala Foundation, develops the leadership potential of high school student leaders in Mindanao. Through leadership camps, interfaith dialogues, and community project management trainings, the program empowers the young student leaders of the region to reach out to their respective communities.
