Please wait…ELSA launches this year's leadership camp series
Thomas Crehan, Chief of USAID-Office of Education, chats with the EYLC alumni in the academe meeting.
ELSA's In-School Youth Engagement Program formally launched and announced the call for nominations for this year's ELSA Young Leaders' Camp (EYLC) series in the academic meeting held last March 9, 2007 in Cotabato City. More than 80 participants attended the launch, composed of District superintendents, DepEd officials, teachers, and school representatives. Discussed were the nomination and selection process, the camp proceedings, and other cultural issues. The alumni of the previous EYLC also came to share their post-camp insights.
Thomas Crehan, Chief of USAID Office of Education, gave an inspiring message in the academe meeting. "You, young leaders have the responsibility to develop your potentials, we all do. We can give you the tools, you have to use them," he said as he addressed the EYLC alumni.
ELSA's In-School Youth Engagement Program, spearheaded by Ayala Foundation, develops the leadership potential of high school student leaders in Mindanao through leadership camps, interfaith dialogues, and community project management trainings. Following the call for nominations and academe meeting this March, the next 2nd and 3rd run of the ELSA Young Leaders' Camp is slated to be on the 3rd and 4th week of April 2007.
