98 PTCA members completed the EQuALLS2 Resource Mobilization Training

July 17, 2009
98 Parents, Teachers and Community Association (PTCA) members from Pigcawayan, North Cotabato benefited in the three two-day resource mobilization training conducted at Pigcawayan Central Elementary School last July 6-10, 2009.

Spearheaded by Ayala Foundation Inc. through Education and Livelihood Skills Alliance (ELSA), the EQuALLS2 PTCA resource mobilization aims to improve their capacity in mobilizing their communities’ resources. The training emphasized that resource mobilization is an undertaking that should be done by organization and communities independent of projects initiated by funding agencies and groups. The spirit of people empowerment and sustainability is highlighted in the event.

The training helped the participants draft goals, strategies and schedule of activities for their PTCA resource mobilization having the current context and condition of their communities as bases.

“This training helped us identify our asset as a community. The resource mobilization plan will serve as our guide in monitoring our activities as PTCA,” said Mr. Ian Joy Glimada, Officer-In-Charge, Libungan Toretta Elementary School.

Altogether, 363 PTCA members from Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato and Cotabato City had been trained. This August, resource mobilization training will target 250 more PTCA members of Basilan, and Tawi-tawi.
