ELSA bags the Anvil Award of Excellence

February 15, 2008---the Education and Livelihood Skills Alliance (ELSA) bagged the Anvil Award of Excellence for its annual newsletter, the ELSA Insights. Given during the 43RD Anvil Awards, held at the InterContinental Manila Hotel, ELSA’s 2007 annual newsletter was chosen out of more than 200 hundred entries, Insights won under the Tools of Public Relations category.

ELSA’s Insights newsletter serves as the alliance’s primary advocacy tool, giving perspective into the Mindanao youth’s struggle to create a better future. The newsletter was produced by the alliance through the Ayala Foundation’s Center for Social Development and with the funding support of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Education Quality and Access for Access for Learning and Livelihood Skills (EQuALLS) project. This year’s Insights also included a special supplemental publication called One Dream: seven stories of hope, which tells the story of seven Mindanao youth.,

Considered as the Oscars for Public Relations, the Anvil Award is given annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.
Now in its second phase, Ayala Foundation Inc. manages the ELSA’s communications and the Community and Youth Organizing components of the alliance.
